Rashmi and Deepa are two children who dash into a garden to play. Their elder sisters, who are friends, have been assigned by their parents to look after them as they play in the garden.
While the kids are at play, Rashmi’s sister says to Deepa’s sister, “I’m weary of my sister’s impatience. She asks for one thing and within seconds, she requests another, immediately followed by yet another demand. It’s like a chain of wishes and demands that I have to continuously fulfill. Sometimes, I become so drained that I feel like reciprocating the same to her. Then she’ll understand what I go through. I could even reprimand her, so she’ll think twice before making another demand.”
Deepa’s sister responds, “If you behave that way, you’re teaching her the concept of revenge. In that case, you’ll be the first one she seeks to retaliate against.” Rashmi’s sister concedes.
As the sisters are conversing, they notice that Rashmi and Deepa are squabbling over a ball. They rush towards them, realizing both children have smeared their clothes with mud. After cleaning them up, they ask, “Why are you two fighting?”
Deepa retorts, “I’m not fighting, sister(ji),she is.”
Rashmi’s sister turns to Rashmi, “Are you upset about something?”
Rashmi admits, “Yes, sister(ji), Deepa keeps throwing the ball away from me, so I can’t catch it.”
Deepa refutes, “No, no, you’re a liar.”
Deepa’s sister interjects, “Mind your language, Deepa sister(ji). You should aim the ball towards Rashmi sister(ji).”
Upon hearing this, Deepa starts to cry. This triggers Rashmi, and she begins to cry as well.
Deepa’s sister says, “When we were children like you, we used to help each other with our studies and play games fairly. That’s why we are good friends. However, after witnessing you two fight, we don’t think you and Rashmi will ever have a friendship like ours.”
Deepa objects, “No, we will be good friends. You are wrong. Wrong. Wrong.”
Rashmi joins in, “Yes, we are good friends and we also look out for each other. You are wrong. Wrong. Wrong,” she screams defiantly.
Deepa’s sister admonishes, “Hey, don’t scream like that. If you both genuinely care for each other, why are you fighting? Go and resume your game . Go play fairly and do justice with each other.”
Rashmi and Deepa stand up and return to their game of ball.
Witnessing this, Rashmi’s sister and Deepa’s sister burst out laughing. They continue their leisurely stroll in the park, engaged in their conversation.

Self-Review:
This is research-based story. As per the “Research ” section, I self-assess the story on the following 3 parameters: Justice, Accountability and Truth.
Justice:
The two friends, elder sisters of Deepa and Rashmi have “justice” between them in the form of “function of friendship”. Deepa and Deepa’s sister have justice in the form of “function of Sibling Relationship”. There is justice between the parents and their children, in the form of “function” defined in the manner that elder sisters are taking care of their younger sisters, in the guidance of their parents.
Accountability:
The elder sister, Rashmi is learning accountability, as her behaviour will be reciprocated by her younger sister.
Truth:
The elder sisters teach the younger sisters, how to behave like a” human being” and while playing, be fair with each other.
